RoadtoAsianGames2018 got a lot sweeter for the Indonesian Eventing Team as they met with none other than the President himself. Pak Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of Youth and Sport, Imam Nahrawi and Erick Thochir, President of the NOC. Together, they witnessed eventers jumping around the show jumping ring as they were being coached by Joss Gray.

During the visit, Pak Jokowi witnessed the eventers go through their training session with Joss Gray. On schedule for today was the show jumping training course, where riders prepared as you do on the competition ring. Warming up in the collecting arena and riders take turns jumping the course. First in the ring was Jendry Palandeng with Donitry, the pair missed out on their MER last week but have another chance to redeem themselves next weekend. Jendry put on a spectacle as he jumped clear in front of the three Honoured guests, Donitry was jumping very well keeping all the jumps in tact. Following Jendry was Riko Ganda Febriyyanto on Lelis Blanch. The pair has successfully achieved their MER and definitely showed their stuff in front of Pak Jokowi, jumping once again faultless in the ring. Many more riders showcased their talents in front of the President.

As we step closer and closer to the Asian Games meeting Pak Jokowi could not have come at a much better time as the riders are currently preparing for the next Asian Games Qualifier. Spurring on their morale for next weeks Asian Games qualifier. Currently, riders of all disciplines are preparing to compete for the third Asian Games qualifier in Indonesia. This leg of the qualifier will take place on the same venue as today, Arthayasa Stables. Show Jumping riders will have to jump around the 1.45m course built by Marco Hess. Next, Dressage will have to take part in the PSG and Inter I. Finally, Eventing riders who have already achieved the MER will go around the CNC*. While eventing riders who have not achieved the MER will get another chance in next weeks CIC*.
