Indonesia appoints Ian Fearon as the Show Jumping Head Coach for the Asian Games 2018.

Ian is currently a Level 3 High Performance Coach and a Horse Sport Ireland tutor. Also, he is the Show Jumping coach for the Irish Eventing team currently preparing for the World Equestrian Games 2018 (Tyron, America). Additionally Ian was awarded the Horse Sport Ireland Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2014.

Between the years of 2011 and 2014 Ian was appointed the Juniors, Young Riders and Senior squad. In doing so, the senior team finished 4th at the World Equestrian Games. Securing their place for the London Olympic Games, finishing 5th as a team and 7th in the Individual, securing one of the best achievements at the Olympics with eventing in a very long time. Furthermore, he was also the coach of the winning Nations Cup and up to 3* and 4* victories at world wide events.

Onwards to 2016-2017, marked great years for his individual show jumping riders and private coaching. Both in show jumping and eventing with home and overseas victories. Travelling to Hungary with one young rider bring home a team Gold Medal. Following this achievement was the Nations Cup at the Dutch Youngsters Festivals in Wierden, where Ian was the winning coach and chef d’equipe that year.

As we head closer and closer to the games on going preparations to bolster the squad is in place. We’ve recently held a training camp for the European based show jumping riders in Albergen, the Netherlands. Onwards and Upwards towards the Asian Games 2018!
